Massachusetts Weather Alert: Snowfall Totals Reach Up to 9 Inches Across the State

Boston, MA – Massachusetts saw significant snowfall between February 8-9, 2025, with accumulations reaching up to 9 inches in some areas, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). The heaviest snowfall was recorded in parts of northeastern Massachusetts, while central and western regions also saw several inches of accumulation.

According to NWS data, the highest reported totals included 9.0 inches in Quincy, 8.2 inches in Manchester, NH, and 7.8 inches in Peabody. Boston received approximately 6.5 inches, while Worcester recorded around 5.3 inches. Snowfall amounts varied across the state, with lower totals in the western regions, such as Pittsfield, which saw about 2.5 inches.

The snowfall caused travel disruptions, with road crews working overnight to clear highways and major streets. Commuters were urged to exercise caution due to lingering icy conditions. Some school delays and cancellations were reported, particularly in areas with higher accumulation.
