Boston, MA – Residents of Massachusetts are advised to brace for frigid conditions Wednesday as temperatures struggle to rise above freezing. Gusty winds will make it feel significantly colder, with wind chills plunging into the teens and low 20s throughout the day.
According to the National Weather Service, highs on Wednesday will reach just 29 degrees in Boston, with winds from the northwest at 11 to 16 mph and gusts up to 23 mph. Sunshine will dominate, but the cold air and wind will create uncomfortable conditions. Residents should bundle up and limit outdoor exposure, especially in the morning.
Thursday’s forecast shows a slight improvement, with highs near 28 degrees and lighter winds shifting southwest. Despite the gradual warm-up, lows will remain in the teens overnight. By Friday, a noticeable change is expected as temperatures climb to the upper 30s, providing a break from the cold.
Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday brings a mix of sun and clouds, with highs nearing 45 degrees. Rain chances increase by Saturday night and into Sunday, with a 30% chance of precipitation. This will be accompanied by steady winds, possibly affecting outdoor plans.
Travelers on major routes like I-90 and I-95 are urged to use caution due to gusty winds this week, particularly during the morning commute.
