A large fire at an apartment building in Hollywood is being battled by firefighters, with at least one person already rescued on Wednesday.
The fire broke out at a two-story building located at 7764 Hollywood Blvd., just west of La Brea. Crews have surrounded the building to combat the flames.
According to investigators, the Los Angeles Fire Department received a report of two vehicles on fire in the carport area, which then spread to the building. At one point, the fire had reached the attic, causing extensive damage.
AIR7 HD, a news helicopter, was present at the scene and captured footage of firefighters assisting a woman down the building’s stairs. The woman is reported to be in fair condition with unspecified injuries, according to the LAFD.
A total of 88 firefighters are currently working to contain the fire within the building, which comprises 32 units.
The exact cause of the fire is still unknown, and there have been no further reports of injuries. Eyewitness News is actively seeking additional information.
Drivers and residents in the vicinity are advised to stay away from the area.
