Detroit, MI – Snowfall is expected to develop across Southeast Michigan on Saturday evening, potentially leading to slick roads and hazardous travel conditions. Forecasters predict up to 2 inches of snow, with the heaviest accumulation occurring between 5 p.m. and midnight.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Detroit/Pontiac, light snow will begin in the afternoon and intensify into the evening. Winds from the east-northeast at 7 to 10 mph could reduce visibility for drivers. Road conditions may become hazardous, particularly on I-75, I-94, and local roads in Detroit, Hamtramck, and surrounding suburbs.

By Sunday morning, skies will clear, with a high temperature reaching 32°F and west-northwest winds at 6 to 10 mph. Monday remains dry with mostly sunny skies and a high near 31°F, while another chance of snow returns late Tuesday with colder conditions.

Residents are urged to drive cautiously, especially after sunset when temperatures drop and roads become more slippery. Salt crews may be deployed, but untreated roads and bridges could see ice buildup.
