Detroit, MI – Southeast Michigan will see strong winds and snow showers overnight as a cold front moves through.
According to the National Weather Service, southwest winds will increase to 40 mph gusts as light snow exits the Tri-Cities and Thumb region this evening. Wind direction will shift northwest at similar speeds, bringing scattered snow showers late tonight. A brief period of light snow accumulation is possible into Wednesday morning.
On Wednesday, stray lake-effect snow bands may develop in the morning. High pressure will move in, clearing snow showers by the afternoon. Temperatures will reach the lower to mid-30s, with gusty northwest winds decreasing rapidly in the evening.
Drivers should prepare for slick roads and reduced visibility overnight. Wind gusts may also create hazardous conditions, especially on elevated roadways.
