Detroit, MI – Winter weather is set to return this weekend, with significant snowfall expected Saturday across Detroit and surrounding areas, including roads along I-94. Residents are advised to prepare for hazardous driving conditions as snow accumulation and icy patches could impact travel plans.

According to the National Weather Service, snow showers will begin early Saturday morning and intensify through midday. Winds from the southwest could gust up to 23 mph, further complicating visibility. Accumulations of up to one inch are expected, though locally heavier pockets could develop. If traveling, be cautious and allow extra time.

Saturday night will bring lingering snow showers before tapering off around midnight. Temperatures will drop to a low of 19°F, with winds continuing to create a brisk chill. Sunday offers some relief with partly sunny skies and a high near 27°F, though frigid winds will keep the day feeling much colder.

Looking ahead, Monday brings breezy conditions with highs near 34°F. However, another round of colder weather arrives Monday night with lows dipping to 26°F under mostly cloudy skies. Snowfall remains unlikely after the weekend, but freezing temperatures will persist.

Drivers along I-94 and other major Detroit-area roads should monitor updated forecasts and ensure vehicles are winter-ready. Snow tires, emergency kits, and de-icing supplies are strongly recommended.

Stay tuned for further updates as conditions develop.
