Grand Rapids, MI – A winter weather advisory remains in effect across parts of Michigan, with additional snow and hazardous travel conditions expected Thursday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids, snow will continue to impact areas in southwest and central Michigan, with up to one inch of additional accumulation. Lake effect snow could cause drifting and rapidly changing visibility, making roads slippery. The advisory is in place until 7 a.m. for central and south-central Michigan, including Lansing, Battle Creek, and Jackson, while western areas, including Grand Rapids, Muskegon, and Kalamazoo, remain under advisory until 1 p.m.

Motorists should anticipate difficult travel conditions, particularly during the morning commute. While a brief lull in snowfall is expected early Thursday, a heavier burst of lake effect snow may develop late morning into early afternoon.

Drivers are urged to slow down, allow extra time for travel, and be prepared for sudden changes in road conditions. Visibility could vary significantly over short distances.

For updated weather conditions and road alerts, check with the Michigan Department of Transportation and the National Weather Service.
