Detroit, MI – Michigan residents should prepare for cold temperatures and another round of snowfall this weekend. A low-pressure system will bring light to moderate snow, with some areas seeing over 4 inches of accumulation.

According to the National Weather Service, lake effect snow showers will affect the southern Lake Huron shoreline today. Flurries are possible, with highs only reaching the 20s. Snow will intensify late tonight as the system moves across Lower Michigan.

Sunday morning could bring a mix of snow and wintry precipitation before temperatures rise in the afternoon. Areas south of M-59 and near the Tri-Cities may see the highest accumulations. By Sunday night, conditions will turn drier and milder, with lows in the 30s.

The Upper Peninsula will also experience steady snowfall through tonight, with diminishing snow from west to east by Sunday morning. Some areas may see between 2 and 4 inches of snow.

Drivers should prepare for slippery roads and reduced visibility. Warmer conditions return Sunday afternoon before another system moves in next week.
