Mid-South Forecast: Memphis to See 70s Before Strong Storms Arrive This Week

Memphis, TN – A warm start to the week will give way to increasing rain chances and possible thunderstorms by Tuesday night. Residents should prepare for wet conditions, as rain chances rise to 50% late Tuesday and continue into Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service, thunderstorms could bring heavy downpours and gusty winds, especially on Wednesday when rain chances peak at 60%. South winds will shift east, with gusts up to 25 mph. Highs will stay in the mid-70s through Thursday before cooling by Friday.

Tuesday will remain partly sunny with a high near 67°F, but by nightfall, rain showers will develop. Wednesday’s forecast calls for scattered thunderstorms throughout the day, with new rainfall amounts up to a quarter-inch. By Wednesday night, showers will persist, possibly affecting evening commutes.

Looking ahead, Thursday could bring the heaviest rain, followed by gradual clearing into the weekend. Friday will see highs around 57°F, with partly sunny skies.

Residents should stay alert for weather updates and prepare for possible travel disruptions midweek.
