Duluth, MN – A fast-moving clipper is set to bring significant snow to Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin starting Tuesday. Areas in the Arrowhead region could see up to six inches of snow, with northern Wisconsin counties likely to receive three to six inches. Strong lake-effect snow will persist through Wednesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, accumulation is expected to begin early Tuesday and intensify overnight into Wednesday. Areas along the North Shore, including Cook and Lake counties, are under a Wind Advisory until 4 p.m. today. Gusts may reach 50 mph, creating hazardous travel conditions.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution on Highway 61 and other major routes as snow squalls could rapidly reduce visibility. Snowfall may lead to slippery road conditions during commutes, particularly Tuesday evening.

Looking ahead, temperatures in Duluth will remain steady this week, with highs near 36°F Tuesday but dropping to the mid-20s by Friday. Wednesday will bring lingering clouds and gusty winds, while Thursday looks sunny before another cold front arrives.

Residents are encouraged to monitor forecasts and prepare for winter conditions. For snow updates, visit weather.gov or follow local emergency alerts.
