Minneapolis, MN – A high wind warning remains in effect across much of Minnesota and western Wisconsin until 6 p.m. Thursday, with gusts reaching up to 50 mph.

According to the National Weather Service, strong west winds of 25 to 35 mph are expected, with the highest gusts impacting Minneapolis, St. Paul, St. Cloud, and Rochester. These winds could down tree limbs, cause power outages, and make travel hazardous.

Drivers, especially those with high-profile vehicles, should exercise caution on highways. Residents are urged to secure loose outdoor objects to prevent damage.

This wind event is part of a larger weather system bringing cold air and increased wind chills. Temperatures will remain below freezing, with blowing snow possible in open areas.

The advisory expires at 6 p.m., but breezy conditions may persist into the evening. For updates, check with local authorities and the National Weather Service.
