Minnesota Sees Unseasonable Warmth with Snow Chances in Wisconsin

St. Paul, MN – A rare midwinter warm-up is set to bring above-normal temperatures across Minnesota and western Wisconsin this week, with daytime highs climbing into the 40s.

According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities, highs are expected to reach 35 to 45 degrees on Monday, with similar temperatures continuing through Thursday. These conditions are significantly warmer than the typical highs in the low to mid-20s for late January.

While much of Minnesota will stay dry, there are chances for light snow in eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin, particularly late Monday morning into the afternoon. Additional rounds of snow are possible Tuesday in western Wisconsin, with snowfall probabilities ranging from 10-25%.

Overnight lows will remain mild for this time of year, staying between 15-30 degrees throughout the week. The NWS noted the potential for temperatures to peak near 50 degrees in some areas on Tuesday and Thursday.

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the warmer weather while staying alert for possible slick conditions in areas impacted by snow.
