Minnesota Weather Alert: Snowstorm to Bring Up to 6 Inches by Friday Night – Wind Chills Below -30°F Next Week

Minneapolis, MN – A winter storm will bring snow to eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin on Friday, with accumulations expected to impact travel into the evening.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Twin Cities, snow will begin Friday afternoon and continue through Friday night. Eastern Minnesota is expected to receive 1 to 3 inches, while western Wisconsin could see 3 to 6 inches. The heaviest snowfall is likely in north-central Minnesota and parts of western Wisconsin, where a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect.

Forecasters warn of slick roads and reduced visibility, especially during the evening commute. Travelers are advised to allow extra time and use caution on the roads.

Following the snowfall, Arctic air will move in, bringing dangerously cold temperatures from Sunday through midweek. Wind chills could drop as low as -25°F to -40°F across the region. The NWS urges residents to dress in layers and limit outdoor exposure to prevent frostbite.
