Quincy, IL – A winter weather advisory has been issued for northeast Missouri and west-central Illinois, warning of freezing rain from early Wednesday morning until the evening.

According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, ice accumulations of up to one-tenth of an inch are expected, impacting cities including Quincy, Hannibal, Bowling Green, and Pittsfield. The advisory is in effect from 3 a.m. to 6 p.m. CST Wednesday.

Road conditions could become hazardous, particularly during the morning and evening commutes. Officials urge drivers to reduce speed and use caution when traveling. Power outages may also occur due to ice accumulation on power lines.
