Brooklyn, IL – A much-needed break from the arctic chill is on the horizon as the St. Louis metro area, including Brooklyn, IL, gears up for a warm-up on Saturday. Highs are expected to reach 46°F, the warmest day in over a week.
According to the National Weather Service, the region remains cold through Friday, with highs hovering around 30°F and overnight lows dropping into the teens and 20s. However, by Saturday, a shift in weather patterns will bring mild air to the area. Residents can look forward to mostly cloudy skies but significantly more comfortable temperatures.
Wednesday and Thursday will still feature sub-freezing conditions, with a chance of flurries Wednesday night and a high of just 30°F Thursday. Friday will be sunny but brisk, with a high of 31°F. The sharp rise in temperatures Saturday will bring relief to those weary of the bitter cold.
The weekend warm-up provides an opportunity for residents to spend time outdoors or tackle tasks delayed by the freezing weather. While nighttime lows Saturday will dip to 28°F, Sunday offers another mild day, with highs near 39°F and partly sunny skies.
Drivers and pedestrians should remain cautious as any thawed surfaces may refreeze overnight, creating slippery spots. Residents are encouraged to enjoy the warmer temperatures responsibly and stay updated on local weather reports for any sudden changes.
