Kansas City, MO – After a week of frigid temperatures, a warming trend is set to bring relief to Kansas City, with highs near 50 expected early next week. Residents should brace for chilly nights through Saturday, but warmer days are on the horizon as a ridge of high pressure moves into the region.

According to the National Weather Service, Friday will be sunny, with a high of 39 and light south winds gusting up to 23 mph. Clouds will increase Friday night, with lows dipping to 23. Saturday will bring mostly cloudy skies, keeping highs around 38. By Sunday, skies will begin clearing, with highs improving to 35 degrees.

The warming trend takes hold Monday, as sunshine pushes temperatures to 45 degrees, followed by a high of 48 Tuesday. Overnight lows, however, will stay in the 20s, so residents should bundle up during evening outings.

Road conditions are expected to remain clear, with no precipitation in the forecast. Drivers along major routes such as I-70 and I-435 should still exercise caution during the cold mornings, as frost may develop on untreated surfaces.

Residents planning outdoor activities this weekend should prepare for cooler Saturday weather but can expect a sunnier and milder end to the weekend. Keep an eye on forecasts as temperatures continue their climb next week.
