Moline Fire Displaces Family After Intense Blaze on 34th Avenue

Moline, IL – A fire heavily damaged a single-family home on 34th Avenue in Moline on Friday night, displacing the homeowner.

Firefighters responded to the scene at 8:54 p.m. after neighbors reported visible flames. Crews arrived within six minutes and found smoke and fire pouring from the home. Firefighters performed an aggressive interior attack and extinguished the blaze within 15 minutes.

Authorities confirmed the homeowner was not present during the fire. The structure suffered significant damage, leaving the resident displaced. The American Red Cross is providing support.

Rock Island and East Moline fire departments assisted at the scene. Mid-American Energy secured utilities, and air support was provided by Moline Second Alarmers.

Investigators are working to determine the fire’s cause and if smoke detectors were functional. Residents are reminded to follow fire safety measures, including proper heater usage and safe disposal of smoking materials.
