Great Falls, MT – Strong, damaging winds are set to impact much of Montana this weekend, with gusts reaching up to 95 mph in some areas. The National Weather Service has issued High Wind Warnings across multiple counties, including Great Falls, Billings, and the Montana Hi-Line, with conditions lasting through Monday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, southwest winds of 30 to 55 mph, with gusts between 65 and 95 mph, are expected across the state. The highest winds will be along the eastern slopes of the Rockies, while other areas, including Cascade County and Judith Basin, could see gusts up to 75 mph.

Officials warn of potential power outages, travel disruptions, and property damage. High-profile vehicles, particularly along Interstate 90 and Highway 191, may experience hazardous crosswinds. Additionally, brief periods of blowing and drifting snow could reduce visibility in rural areas.

Residents are advised to secure loose objects, avoid unnecessary travel, and prepare for possible power disruptions. The strongest winds are expected late Saturday night into early Sunday and again Sunday night into Monday morning.

The warning remains in effect until 2 p.m. Monday for most regions and until 5 p.m. Monday for areas near Billings.
