Motorcyclist in critical condition after Long Beach hit-and-run crash
A motorcyclist is in critical condition after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Long Beach.
On Feb. 7, Long Beach police responded to a crash near Pacific Avenue and 7th Street at 6:05 p.m.
The male motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Pacific Avenue when a pickup truck driver traveling westbound on 7th Street entered the intersection and collided with the motorcyclist, police said.
The truck driver did not stop to check on the fallen biker and continued driving away.
“It is unclear at this time which vehicle had the right-of-way,” investigators said.
The impact left the motorcyclist with serious injuries. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Surveillance footage captured the suspects’ vehicle moments before the hit-and-run crash.
The vehicle is described as a newer model black Chevrolet pickup truck with 4×4 decals on the panels above both rear tires. The truck likely has front-end damage.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information on the case is urged to call LBPD Detective Joseph Johnson at 562-570-7355.
