Multnomah County, OR – A series of crashes on Interstate 84 westbound near milepost 35 disrupted traffic Thursday morning as winter storm conditions created hazardous driving conditions.
According to Oregon State Police (OSP), troopers, local law enforcement, and first responders arrived at the scene around 10:45 a.m. Authorities reported at least eight separate crashes, with icy roads, limited visibility, and near-white-out conditions contributing to the incidents. Four individuals sustained minor injuries and were transported to local hospitals. The total number of vehicles involved remains unknown, as local law enforcement also responded to additional crashes in the area.
Traffic on I-84 westbound is beginning to flow, but full reopening of the highway has not yet been confirmed. Much of the region remains under a winter storm warning until 10 a.m. Friday. Officials urge residents to delay travel if possible and check TripCheck.com for current road conditions before driving.
