‘My Fingerprints Aren’t on Anything’: Young Father Fatally Shot in Ambush by Date and Her Boyfriend
The life of Jarrell Pryor, a young father from Indiana, was cut short in a deadly ambush, and what was supposed to be a simple date turned out to be a sad tragedy for him. Jarrell Pryor was 25 years old. Currently, two adolescents, one of whom is the woman he was seeing at the time of his death, have been taken into custody and charged in connection with his homicide.
During the evening of January 25, Pryor went out on a date with Alexis Hawkins, who was 19 years old. The date appeared to be one that was typical. On the other hand, the police claim that Hawkins had a nefarious scheme. Investigators claim that she was sending her lover, Brian Winston Jr., who was 18 years old, a covert message while they were out on a date. The message was intended to set up a robbery, which ultimately resulted in Pryor being shot to death while he was sitting in his car.
The two adolescents allegedly plotted the setup through the use of Instagram, as stated in the arrest affidavit that was acquired by WXIN. During the time when Pryor was under the impression that he was getting to know a new person, Hawkins was reportedly plotting to ambush another person.
After a few moments, Pryor had passed away.
According to the police, digital evidence, which included communications between Pryor and Hawkins on Instagram, provided confirmation that the two were out on a date that evening. At the same time, however, it is said that Hawkins was sending Winston a message complaining about robbing Pryor. In addition, the authorities disclosed that Hawkins conducted a search on Google for terms such as “news today,” “news today near me,” and “shootings Keystone” in the hours that followed the murder. Additionally, she sent a number of messages to a number of persons, requesting a ride from the vicinity of the crime site.
Hawkins declared that she was unable to recall a significant portion of the night when she was questioned by the police several weeks later. According to reports, she denied possessing a weapon and stated, “There is no weapon to say that I did anything.” There is no evidence of my fingerprints on anything. She gave the following response when she was questioned about her presence in Pryor’s vehicle: “It’s not going to be on any weapon, though.”
When she was approached by detectives about a message she had sent in which she stated that she was going to commit a “play,” which is a term that is usually used to describe a heist, Hawkins stopped cooperating and sought for some legal representation.
During the month of February, Hawkins was taken into custody and charged with murder as well as robbery that resulted in serious bodily injury. Robbery, murder, and felony murder are the charges that have been brought against Winston. The Marion County Jail is holding both of them without allowing them to post bond. The date of their subsequent court appearance is set for the 19th of May.
Jarrell Pryor has left behind a broken family, which includes a young child who will now have to grow up without a father figure in their life.
