NAPERVILLE, Ill. – A fire engulfed a single-family home under renovation on Nanak Court early Saturday morning, causing extensive damage estimated at over $700,000.
According to Naperville’s Emergency Communication Center, a passerby reported the blaze at 4:38 a.m. Firefighters arrived minutes later to find the first floor heavily involved, with flames spreading to the second floor. Crews confirmed the home was unoccupied and worked quickly to contain the fire.
By 5:21 a.m., the response escalated to a box alarm, bringing additional suppression units and officers to the scene. The fire was under control by 6:28 a.m., though firefighters remained for an additional 30 minutes to ensure all hot spots were extinguished.
Multiple departments assisted, including crews from Aurora, Bolingbrook, Downers Grove, and Plainfield. Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
