Omaha, NE – A winter weather advisory has been issued for parts of southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa, with freezing drizzle expected to create hazardous travel conditions on Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service in Omaha, the advisory will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. CST. Ice accumulations of up to one-tenth of an inch are possible in areas including Council Bluffs, Glenwood, Red Oak, Auburn, and Falls City.
Roads and sidewalks may become slick, particularly during the morning and evening commutes. Motorists are urged to slow down and exercise caution. Power outages may also occur due to accumulating ice on power lines.
