Omaha, NE – Nebraska residents can expect light snowfall midweek as a weather system moves through the region. Accumulations are expected to remain minimal, with Omaha receiving less than an inch of snow.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Omaha/Valley, snowfall is forecast to begin late Wednesday and continue into early Thursday morning. Northern parts of the state, including areas near Storm Lake, may see slightly higher totals of 1 to 2 inches.

Despite the light snowfall, NWS advises travelers to exercise caution as roads may become slick during overnight hours. Temperatures will remain cold, which could lead to icy patches on untreated surfaces.

This unusual season has seen southern states experience more snow than Omaha, which has measured just 1 inch so far this winter.

Residents are encouraged to monitor updates from NWS and prepare for light snow removal efforts if needed. For detailed forecasts, visit weather.gov.
