Binghamton, NY – Gusty winds and snow showers are expected across central New York today as an arctic front sweeps through the area. A Wind Advisory remains in effect for parts of the region, including Binghamton, from noon through 6 a.m. Tuesday, with gusts up to 50 mph.

According to the National Weather Service, snow squalls may develop overnight into Tuesday morning, reducing visibility and causing hazardous travel conditions, especially on major roadways like I-81. Residents are urged to secure outdoor items and prepare for possible scattered power outages.

The five-day forecast shows snow showers lingering through Tuesday, with accumulations up to an inch likely. Wednesday brings a mix of sun and snow, with highs near 36°F and winds calming to 24 mph. By Thursday, conditions improve slightly, with sunshine and temperatures around 30°F. Another round of snow showers could impact the area Friday.

Drivers should remain cautious and check road conditions before heading out. Stay updated by monitoring local weather reports and advisories throughout the week.
