New York, NY – A chilly weekend is underway as a cold front continues to dominate the forecast. Sunday will bring partly sunny skies with highs nearing 40°F but expect brisk winds to make it feel much colder.

According to the National Weather Service, wind chills Sunday could dip to the mid-20s as west winds reach 13–18 mph, gusting up to 28 mph. This pattern continues into Monday with highs around 40°F and breezy southwest winds keeping the air crisp.

Residents planning outdoor activities should dress in layers and limit prolonged exposure to the cold. By Tuesday, temperatures will hold steady near 40°F with clearer skies, offering a brief reprieve.

Looking ahead, mostly sunny conditions dominate through midweek with highs near 40°F. Overnight lows, however, will remain frigid, ranging from 24°F to 28°F through Wednesday night. Blustery winds are forecast to return by Thursday, so commuters and pedestrians should prepare for a brisk start to February.

The colder temperatures increase the risk of frostbite and hypothermia. Ensure you check on vulnerable neighbors, including the elderly, and protect exposed skin if heading outside. Drivers are advised to monitor conditions as breezy winds could create visibility challenges in open areas like the FDR Drive.
