Albany, NY – A winter weather advisory has been issued for Hamilton and Northern Herkimer counties, with snow expected from early Sunday morning through late Sunday night.

According to the National Weather Service, snowfall will total between 1 and 6 inches, with higher amounts possible in areas north of Route 28. Developing lake effect snow bands on Sunday morning could significantly impact travel in localized areas.

Residents and travelers should anticipate slippery road conditions throughout the day and into the night. Roads may become especially hazardous under heavier snow bands, which can deposit snow quickly and reduce visibility.

Motorists are urged to slow down and exercise caution when driving. The advisory remains in effect from 1 a.m. Sunday until 1 a.m. Monday.

The National Weather Service reminds residents in the affected areas to prepare for rapidly changing conditions, particularly in regions impacted by lake effect snow.
