Wilmington, NC – A winter storm is set to impact southeastern North Carolina and northeastern South Carolina, with heavy snowfall expected from Tuesday evening through early Wednesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, snow accumulations will range from 2 to 4 inches inland, with 3 to 5 inches likely near the coast. Locally higher amounts are possible in some areas, including Wilmington, Myrtle Beach, and surrounding coastal communities. The Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Travel conditions are expected to become hazardous overnight, particularly impacting the Wednesday morning commute. Residents should prepare for slippery roads and limited visibility.

Authorities advise carrying emergency supplies, including flashlights, food, and water, if traveling during the storm. For updated road conditions, drivers can call 511 in their respective states.
