Grand Forks, ND – North Dakota is kicking off February with a wintry mix, as light snow is expected through the weekend and into next week. While totals remain low, travel impacts are possible, especially in areas east of the Red River Valley.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Grand Forks, snowfall will continue through Sunday, with accumulations up to 2 inches. The highest totals are expected in eastern Minnesota, while North Dakota sees light, intermittent snow. Monday brings another round of snow along and south of Highway 200, with lows dipping as low as -12°F.

Tuesday and Wednesday will see continued snow across southeast North Dakota, moving northeast. Overnight lows will range from -16°F to 4°F, while daytime highs struggle to reach double digits. The NWS warns of slick roads and minor travel delays.

Looking ahead, a stronger system may arrive midweek, increasing the potential for heavier snowfall. Drivers should check road conditions frequently and plan for colder temperatures.
