North Dakota Weather Alert: Wind Chills Drop to -35°F Through Tuesday

Bismarck, ND – A dangerous cold snap is gripping North Dakota, with wind chills plummeting as low as 35 below zero across the northwest and north-central regions. The National Weather Service has issued a Cold Weather Advisory, in effect until Tuesday at noon CST (11 a.m. MST).
According to the National Weather Service in Bismarck, affected areas include Minot, Williston, Bottineau, Watford City, and Devils Lake, among others. The extreme cold could cause frostbite on exposed skin within 10 minutes. Light snow is also expected to return Monday night into Tuesday.
A second Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for eastern North Dakota, including Cavalier, Pembina, Ramsey, and Griggs Counties, with wind chills as low as 32 below zero through Tuesday at 9 a.m. CST.
Officials advise residents to dress in layers, cover all exposed skin, and limit outdoor activity. If traveling, carry an emergency kit and check road conditions before heading out.
