Northern California Winter Storm: Up to 10 Inches of Snow Expected Through 3 PM Wednesday

Eureka, CA – A prolonged winter storm is bringing intermittent heavy snow to Northern California, with up to 10 inches expected at higher elevations through 3 p.m. Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Eureka, snow levels will drop below 2,000 feet as a cold front moves through the region. Areas including Dinsmore, Hayfork, and Berry Summit could see between 3 to 10 inches of snow, with 1 to 4 inches accumulating on key highway passes such as Highway 36 and Highway 299.

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until Wednesday afternoon. Hazardous travel conditions are expected, and chain restrictions may be implemented at higher elevations. Forecasters warn of heavier snow potential Wednesday and Thursday.

Drivers are urged to use caution and check road conditions by dialing 511.
