Northern Indiana Braces for Heavy Rainfall and Flooding Risks

Cass County, IN – A strong weather system will bring heavy rain to Northern Indiana starting Thursday evening. Rainfall will move from south to north, lasting into Friday morning.
According to the US National Weather Service Northern Indiana, a brief lull in the rain is possible early Friday. However, another round of rain will arrive by late morning and continue into the evening. Rainfall totals may reach around one inch, with locally heavier amounts possible.
The forecast predicts temperatures between 36 and 39 degrees Thursday night. Fridayâ€s highs will range from 41 to 52 degrees before dropping to 22 to 28 degrees at night. Rain will taper off late Friday, followed by colder temperatures.
Officials warn of potential flooding in low-lying areas and urge drivers to use caution on wet roads. Weekend temperatures will remain cool, with highs in the mid-40s and lows in the 30s.
