Gaylord, MI – A cold front moving through northern Michigan is producing widespread snow and gusty winds, leading to hazardous travel conditions.
The National Weather Service in Gaylord warns of snowfall rates up to 1 inch per hour, combined with gusts up to 35 mph. Visibility may drop to a half mile or less in areas affected by blowing snow. The most hazardous period is expected between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. tonight.
Drivers should prepare for rapidly changing conditions, especially along major routes such as US-131 and I-75. Snow accumulations of 2–4 inches are possible, with higher totals in localized areas.
Road conditions will gradually improve into Sunday morning as snow activity subsides.
