Northern Michigan Winter Weather: Snow and Gusty Winds Through Friday Morning

Sault Ste. Marie, MI – A winter weather advisory is in effect from 3 p.m. Thursday until 7 a.m. Friday for northern Michigan, with snow and strong winds expected to create hazardous conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, snowfall of 2 to 5 inches is forecast for Chippewa County, with locally higher amounts possible. Wind gusts up to 40 mph may cause blowing and drifting snow.

Travelers should expect poor visibility and slippery roads, especially during the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes.

Officials advise motorists to use caution and check road conditions via Michigan 511.
