Nude man saved from rushing waters of rain-filled Southern California canal

Emergency crews rescued a man trapped in the fast-moving waters of a rain-filled San Bernardino canal Wednesday night.

The incident occurred shortly before 11 p.m. when emergency crews responded to a swift water rescue call in the drainage canal on Mill Street just east of South Allen Street.

San Bernardino police located the man, who at some point had lost his clothes, and dropped a rope to keep him from being carried away by the water.

Video showed firefighters with the S.B. County Fire Department lowering a ladder down to the victim, who climbed up under his own power.
