Cleveland, OH – Temperatures across Ohio are dropping sharply, with wind chills expected to reach as low as -3 degrees by Tuesday. Residents in Cleveland and surrounding areas should prepare for snow showers and sub-zero conditions through midweek.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), snow squalls will develop Tuesday afternoon and continue into the evening. These conditions may cause brief periods of poor visibility and fast snow accumulation, especially during rush hour. Wind gusts could reach up to 29 mph, making conditions feel even colder.
Tonight’s low will dip to 10 degrees, with wind chill values plunging to -4 degrees. Winds will remain steady between 11 and 13 mph. Snow showers are likely to begin Tuesday morning, with temperatures peaking near 19 degrees. The wind chill will hover near -3 degrees as gusts strengthen through the afternoon.
The hazardous weather will persist into Wednesday, with another round of snow showers possible by evening. Accumulations are expected to remain light, with less than one inch of new snow predicted. Westward winds will continue at 11 to 15 mph, contributing to sub-zero wind chills overnight.
The NWS urges residents to take precautions during this cold snap. Dress warmly and limit time outdoors to avoid frostbite. Motorists should remain cautious as snow squalls could create slick roads and reduce visibility.
Spotter activation is not anticipated during this weather event.
