Oil sheen spotted at Port of Long Beach

A small oil sheen was spotted at the Port of Long Beach on Thursday.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Office of Spill Prevention and Response announced the detection on social media, where officials detailed that the oil came to Port Channel 3 from the area near Pico Boulevard and Pier D and C streets in Long Beach.

“The oil surfaced at street level, before entering storm drains leading to the channel,” the OSPR said.
