Pendleton, OR – An air stagnation advisory remains in effect until 4 p.m. Monday for much of eastern Oregon, including Pendleton, as calm winds and an inversion layer trap pollutants near the surface. Residents with respiratory conditions are advised to limit outdoor activities.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory affects areas across central, northeastern, and southeastern Oregon, with similar conditions in southeast Washington. Air quality could worsen, creating potential health risks. Officials recommend avoiding outdoor burning and using air purifiers indoors when possible.

The extended forecast offers some relief. Monday will be sunny with a high near 38°F and calm winds. Temperatures will drop to 19°F overnight under clear skies. Tuesday and Wednesday bring more sunshine, with highs of 37°F and 41°F, respectively. By Thursday, a chance of rain develops, and temperatures will climb to the mid-40s.
