Portland, OR – A mix of rain and snow is expected to hit Portland this week, with temperatures staying near freezing at night. The National Weather Service warns of potential travel disruptions, especially in higher elevations.

According to the latest forecast, Tuesday will bring snow showers before 1 p.m., followed by a chance of rain and snow in the afternoon. Snow levels will hover around 300 feet, with a high near 40°F. Wednesday could see more significant snowfall, with an 80% chance of precipitation and snow levels dropping to 200 feet.

Overnight temperatures will dip below freezing, increasing the risk of icy roads. Commuters should use caution on highways and bridges, where slick conditions are most likely. The forecast also calls for rain/snow chances through Thursday night, keeping road conditions hazardous in some areas.

Drivers should check road conditions before heading out and allow extra time for travel. The Oregon Department of Transportation advises carrying chains if driving in higher elevations.
