Pendleton, OR – A winter storm warning remains in effect for the Pendleton area until 10 a.m. Wednesday, bringing heavy snow and hazardous travel conditions.
According to the National Weather Service, additional snowfall of 3 to 5 inches is expected in the Foothills of the Blue Mountains. Periods of moderate to heavy snow, combined with low visibility, could create dangerous road conditions throughout Tuesday and into early Wednesday.
A brief lull in snowfall is expected Tuesday morning through mid-afternoon, followed by another round of heavier snow. Rates may reach 1 inch per hour Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning. Drivers should avoid unnecessary travel and prepare for slow commutes if they must be on the roads.
