Orland Park, IL – The Village of Orland Park is hosting a holiday light recycling program through January 17. Residents can drop off unwanted or broken lights at four convenient locations.
According to the Village of Orland Park, labeled bins are available at Village Hall, Franklin Loebe Center, Sportsplex, and the Orland Park Health and Fitness Center. The drop-off points accept non-working or old string lights, keeping them out of landfills. This program aims to encourage sustainability and proper disposal during the post-holiday season.
The recycling program includes Village Hall at 14700 S. Ravinia Avenue, Franklin Loebe Center at 14650 S. Ravinia Avenue, Sportsplex at 11351 W. 159th Street, and Orland Park Health and Fitness Center at 15430 West Avenue. Each location is accessible during operating hours, giving residents multiple opportunities to participate.
Orland Park officials hope to raise awareness about responsible holiday waste management. Recycling lights reduces environmental impact and prevents harmful materials from entering landfills. Residents are encouraged to participate and help protect the environment.
The program ends on Wednesday, January 17. Residents are reminded not to miss this chance to declutter and recycle responsibly. The Village of Orland Park will provide updates on similar sustainability efforts in the future.
