Pendleton, OR – A winter storm system is moving into Pendleton this week, bringing a mix of rain, snow, and freezing temperatures that could impact travel and daily activities. Residents should prepare for slippery roads, reduced visibility, and bitter cold as winter weather settles in through the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday will start with cloudy skies and a high of 38°F before rain moves in by the afternoon. As temperatures drop into the mid-20s overnight, rain will transition to snow, with a chance of light accumulation by Tuesday morning.

Tuesday will bring continued chances of snow showers, with daytime highs struggling to reach 34°F. Winds will remain light, but roads may be slick, especially in the early morning and evening hours. Overnight lows will dip to 17°F, bringing the risk of ice formation on untreated surfaces.

By Wednesday, only a slight chance of precipitation remains, with partly sunny skies and a high of 36°F. However, another round of light snow could arrive late Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

Thursday’s forecast calls for a 40% chance of snow, with daytime temperatures peaking at 30°F before plummeting back into the teens overnight. A stronger system could bring heavier snowfall Thursday night into Friday, with a 60% chance of snow and lows around 20°F.

Heading into the weekend, snow chances will diminish, but temperatures will remain cold. Saturday will see partly sunny skies with a high near 36°F, followed by another round of light snow possible Sunday as highs remain in the mid-30s.

Residents should stay updated on the latest weather forecasts and prepare for winter driving conditions.
