A winter weather advisory has been issued for parts of Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The National Weather Service predicts snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches between Sunday at 1 a.m. and Monday at 9 a.m.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory affects Fayette and Westmoreland Counties in Pennsylvania and Monongalia and Marion Counties in West Virginia. Higher elevations in these regions may see the heaviest snow. Hazardous road conditions are expected, particularly during the Monday morning commute.

Officials urge residents to limit travel during the advisory and allow extra time for essential trips. Snowfall will likely create slick roads and reduce visibility. Drivers are advised to carry emergency supplies, such as blankets and flashlights.

The National Weather Service encourages the public to report snow or ice accumulations by calling 412-262-1988 or posting updates on their social media channels.
