Philadelphia, PA – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for Philadelphia and surrounding areas through 6 a.m. Sunday, with a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain expected. Slippery roads and low visibility may cause travel disruptions overnight.

According to the National Weather Service, precipitation will begin Saturday afternoon as snow before transitioning into a wintry mix overnight. Total snow and sleet accumulation could reach two inches, with ice buildup of up to two-tenths of an inch. Winds will be light but could gust up to 20 mph Sunday.

Sunday will see clearing skies and temperatures rising to 42°F, improving road conditions. However, another system will move in Tuesday, bringing an 80% chance of snow and a high of 34°F.

Drivers should exercise caution on major roadways, including I-95 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike, as slick conditions persist overnight. Commuters should check for delays and allow extra travel time.

The week ahead remains unsettled, with another round of rain and snow expected Wednesday. Residents are advised to stay updated on changing conditions and prepare for winter hazards through midweek.
