Philadelphia, PA – Snow, sleet, and freezing rain will impact parts of Pennsylvania tonight, with northern areas seeing the worst conditions. Southern regions will primarily experience rain, but icy roads could develop overnight.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for northern Pennsylvania. Snow accumulations could reach 1-2 inches, with ice making travel hazardous. Precipitation will start this evening, transitioning to rain by dawn.
Major highways, including Interstates 78, 80, and 81, may see icy conditions, leading to dangerous travel. Drivers should exercise caution, as untreated roads may become slick.
Philadelphia and surrounding areas will mostly see rain, but brief sleet is possible. The heaviest snow will impact areas north of Allentown and Reading.
Residents should prepare for changing conditions and allow extra travel time. Keep an eye on weather updates and plan accordingly.
