Peoria County, IL – Single-Vehicle Crash Claims Driver’s Life

A fatal traffic accident occurred Friday afternoon in Peoria County when a vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

According to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened at approximately 2:01 p.m. in the 4100 block of Cloverdale Road. Deputies determined the vehicle was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed when it lost control. Emergency responders, including Chillicothe Fire, AMT, and Chillicothe Police, arrived at the scene.

The 33-year-old male driver, the vehicle’s sole occupant, was transported to OSF Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The coroner will release the victim’s identity after family notifications.
