Peoria, IL – Hit-and-Run Leaves Pedestrian Hospitalized, Police Investigate

Peoria, IL – A pedestrian sustained serious injuries after a hit-and-run crash early Monday on Martin Luther King Drive.

Peoria Police responded to the 2100 block of MLK Drive around 12:24 a.m. after receiving reports of a pedestrian struck. Officers discovered an unconscious adult male lying in the street. He did not have identification, and his identity remains unknown.

Officers immediately began life-saving measures until paramedics arrived and transported the victim to a nearby hospital. According to the Peoria Police Department, the man suffered serious injuries.

The Criminal Investigations Division and Traffic Unit are investigating the incident. Authorities are working to identify the victim and gather information about the driver. Police have not released any suspect details at this time.
