Police arrest man accused of raping woman, assaulting another in Long Beach
After a brief search, police on Saturday arrested a man accused of raping a women in Long Beach, authorities said.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, 26-year-old Dion Terrell Walton Jr. was arrested in the city of Wilmington on Saturday around 12:21 p.m., after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
He was arrested on suspicion of one count of sodomy, one count of first-degree robbery, one count of aggravated kidnapping with intent to commit rape and one count of assault with intent to commit a felony.
Walton allegedly sexually assaulted a woman at about 1 a.m. Wednesday, when he approached her as she was walking near an alley in the area of West 10th Street and Pacific Avenue.
Later that morning, police said he assaulted another woman by striking her in the upper body.
His bail was set at $1 million.
