Portland, OR – Drivers in Portland and surrounding areas face hazardous conditions as dense fog blankets the region this morning. A dense fog advisory remains in effect until noon today, with visibility reduced to a quarter mile or less in areas including the Portland Metro Lowlands, I-5, and Chehalem Mountain.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory affects the Greater Vancouver Metro area and other low-lying regions. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, use low-beam headlights, and maintain extra distance to prevent accidents. Pedestrians and cyclists should wear reflective clothing to ensure visibility in these low-light conditions.

Today’s Forecast: Foggy conditions are expected to clear by the afternoon, with temperatures reaching a high of 41°F. Winds will remain light, offering little relief from the fog.

Thursday: Expect mostly cloudy skies with a high near 44°F, followed by partly clear conditions in the evening.

Weekend Outlook: Sunshine is anticipated by Friday, with daytime highs in the mid-40s and lows in the upper 20s. Clear skies will continue into Saturday and Sunday, offering ideal weather for outdoor activities.

The dense fog advisory highlights the need for caution during the morning commute. Travelers along I-5, Highway 26, and local roads are strongly encouraged to plan for delays. For the latest updates, check local weather forecasts before heading out.
