Braidwood, IL – All Reed-Custer District 255 schools are closed Thursday due to hazardous road conditions, according to Superintendent Mark Mitchell.
Mitchell stated that overnight temperatures did not warm up as predicted, leaving a glaze of ice on many roads, particularly in rural areas. The ice is not expected to melt until later in the morning. As a result, the district opted for a traditional emergency day instead of e-learning, as elementary students were not sent home with devices in advance.
All Reed-Custer Schools, including out-of-district programs, will remain closed for the day. Parents and students with questions are encouraged to contact the school.
